Mass start

Since the season 1998/1999 this discipline is in the World Cup and till 2006 is this exciting and popular discipline also olympic.
In the mass start are only the 30 best athletes of the World Cup. If one of the Top 30 can't start, automatically place 31.gets permission to start and so on.
At World Championships is the first criterion a medal at the precious individual races, then the best 15 of the current World Cup ranking and the rest by the won World Cup points at World Championships.
For the men it's a distance of 15km and for the women 12.5km with 4 shooting sessions (prone-prone-standing-standing). For every missed target a penalty loops of 150m.
