D-2 for Grand Prix of Switzerland / Dübendorf

Noch zweimal schlafen und es ist soweit : in Dübendorf (ZH) steigt die erste Auflage des Grossen Preis der Schweiz im Sommerbiathlon. Während der gesamten Vorbereitung zu diesem Event hat sich das Datum 5. Juli als vorteilhaft erwiesen. Die teilnehmenden Nationen Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Norwegen und Schweden absolvierten fast ausnahmslos Leistungstestwochen und sehen im 1. Grossen Preis der Schweiz im Sommerbiathlon eine erste internationale Vergleichsschau. Nicht nur die Fans, auch die Athleten selbst, wie beispielsweise Kati Wilhelm : „ Ich sehe die Events als Training unter Wettkampfbedingungen – eine sehr effektive Art der Vorbereitung, denn die Athleten müssen wie beim Weltcup unter voller Belastung schießen. Zudem bieten die Veranstaltungen eine schöne Abwechslung zu den oft einsamen Trainingseinheiten. […] Ein weiterer Aspekt ist, dass der Biathlon in seiner Sommer-Version auch in Städte/Regionen und damit auch zu Menschen getragen werden kann, wo normalerweise kein Wintersport stattfindet“. Not only the fans, also the athletes themselves look forward to this race, like Kati Wilhelm : „ I consider such events as a training unit under competition conditions – this is a very effective way to prepare, due to the fact that the athletes must shoot under pressure, like on a World Cup stage. Moreover, these events offer a change in that period of the training where the athletes work mainly on their own. […] A further aspect is that biathlon in its summery version can be carried out in locations that are usually not suitable for winter sports“. Durant la phase préparatoire, la date du 5 juillet s'est imposée comme présentant le plus d'avantages. Les nations participantes (Allemagne, France, Italie, Norvège et Suède) étaient toutes engagées dans des tests de forme physique et trouvent dans ce premier Grand Prix de Suisse de biathlon d'été une première occasion d'effectuer des comparaisons. Non seulement les fans, mais également les athlètes se réjouissent de cette course, telle Kati Wilhelm : „ Je considère ce genre de manifestations comme un entraînement en conditions de compétition– c'est une préparation très efficace, étant donné que les athlètes doivent tirer sous pression, comme sur une étape de Coupe du monde. De plus, c'est un changement bienvenu pour les athlètes, car dans cette période de leur préparation, ils travaillent souvent seuls. […] Et pour finir, le biathlon d'été se prête à être organisé ailleurs que dans des stations de sport d'hiver“. Source : Swiss Ski
